We are so excited to be offering a preschool program this fall. Below you will find information about rates, what our curriculum entails and the basics about our program. Eventually I would like to make this a place where parents can come to find out what is going on at school...but we’ll see what happens.
The Basics of the Program Curriculum We use the Horizons curriculum as a base for our curriculum but we do make some alterations depending on if we think that the children may benefit from something that isn’t in the curriculum or we may think that they may learn the concept a little better a different way than the curriculum presents it. We try very hard to incorporate a variety of learning styles as well as try to make learning a fun time. So we may play a game to learn our letters or count the space on a board game, etc. I am a former elementary school teacher and therefore I am very geared to making sure that your child is ready for school. You should feel very confident that I will do everything in my power as well to make sure that this is fun experience for your child. I want every child to LOVE going to school. Hours/Rates The official preschool program will run from 9:00a.m. till 12:00pm with lunch served from 11:30 till 12:00pm. If you wish to have your child enrolled for just the preschool program it will be $12 per day. If you choose for your child to receive care before or after the program it will be $23 per day for 4-9hours of care (including preschool program). The You may choose how many days a week you would like to have your child enrolled in a week. For maximum impact (especially for those going into Kindergarten the next year) I recommend a 5 day week. So that your child can get used to a regular school week as well as so that they are able to benefit from the extra repeat practices. The curriculum is set up in such a way as new concepts are introduced on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the concepts are reviewed and practiced. I do however require a one day per week minimum. Field Trips Throughout the year we will be going on field trips. The majority of the field trips are free although occasionally there will be a minimal cost.
Finally I recommend that if you are at all interested in our program to schedule a visit so that you can see our facility in person. It is difficult to relay over the internet all that we have to offer your child as well as answer any questions you may have.
